Meta Business Manager domain validation
To connect Deskbolt to your Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp Business page, Meta requires your domain to be verified in Business Manager and added to your account's Brand Safety list.
Prerequisites
- Have Admin access to the Business Manager that owns the page to connect
- Be able to edit your DNS OR upload an HTML file to your site root
Step 1 — Open Brand Safety
- Go to business.facebook.com
- Click the gear icon at top right (Settings)
- In the left menu: Brand Safety → Domains
Step 2 — Add your domain
- Click "Add"
- Enter your domain without
https://and withoutwww.— justyoursite.com - Click "Add domain"

Step 3 — Choose verification method
Meta offers 3 methods. We recommend:
If you have DNS access
Choose DNS TXT record.
- Meta gives you a record like:
facebook-domain-verification=abc123def456...
- Go to your DNS registrar (OVH, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap…)
- Add a TXT record:
- Host:
@(or leave empty depending on registrar) - Value: the string Meta provided
- Host:
- Save
If you DON'T have DNS access
Choose HTML file upload.
- Meta gives you an
.htmlfile to download - Upload it to your site root (
https://yoursite.com/the-file.html) - Verify it's accessible by typing the URL in your browser
Step 4 — Click "Verify"
Back in Meta Business Manager, click "Verify".
- DNS: verification can take a few minutes to 24h (DNS propagation)
- HTML: nearly instant
Step 5 — ⚠️ DON'T FORGET: confirm domain is verified
This is the most often forgotten step, causing 80% of blockers:
- Once your domain shows "Verified" (green badge), go back to Brand Safety → Domains
- Confirm your domain appears as "Verified"
- This "Verified" status is the trigger that lets Deskbolt connect your Facebook page to the chatbot
If after this step Deskbolt still doesn't connect, contact us — it's probably a Business Manager issue (wrong BM used, missing admin permissions…).
Edge cases
I have multiple Business Managers
Make sure you verify the domain on the right BM — the one that owns
the Facebook page you want to connect to Deskbolt. To find it:
Facebook page → Settings → Page roles → "Owned by Business Manager XXX".
My domain is verified but Deskbolt doesn't connect
Check:
- You're admin of the BM (not just editor)
- The Facebook page is assigned to the same BM
- You've shared the right credentials with us
If all OK, email us with a screenshot of your Brand Safety → Domains.
